Volunteers Needed for D&I Badging Phase 2 

Maybe you’ve always wanted to be an event organizer, but thought “nah, that’s a lot of work.” (You’re not wrong, it is a lot of work). The good news is now you can have all the glory that comes with being an event organizer without any of the actual work! Our D&I Badging Program is searching for volunteers to submit, review, and moderate mock events for Phase 2 of their pilot testing. Check the post and reach out if you have a few extra minutes to spare for this excellent cause.

Google Summer of Code and Outreachy Student Highlights

With only a few weeks left in the summer mentorship programs, our students have made excellent progress.  Here are just a few highlights from 2 of our students, and we will continue to highlight different students’ work in our weekly newsletter. They’re all doing a fantastic job! Read more on their blogs below:

• Venu completed the pilot study for analyzing metrics on Gitlab, and plans to expand that work into GitHub, using CHAOSS as the pilot study for that implementation.
• Ria continues to evolve the implementation of SCMS inside CHAOSS, with continuous upgrades to its UX and functionality, and assistance with tagging and calibration of the codex.
